Muxtape added a small feature that makes a big difference, I think. Now you can give you muxtape a proper name and description.
This was useful for me, because mine is a collection of interesting singles, not a coherent mixtape you would give to a crush. And I felt like a tard without being able to explain it.
“MultiScreener is a set of freeware applications that synchronize the playback of quicktime movies on multiple computers, using a local network to tie them all together.
It is intended for multi-screen video walls, multichannel art installations, and the like. (It’s an alternative to Pioneer DVD Players and expensive synchronizer hardware.) There are two applications: Server and Client. The server plays a movie and sends position information over the network. Each client compares its position to the server’s and changes its playback speed to compensate.”
I don’t like every single song on here but there are some real gems, such as Tiger Phone Card by Dengue Fever.
“I think part of what I’m excited about doing at EMI is doing a bunch of experimenting to see what works and what doesn’t.”
Haha - YES! Exactly. Maybe 2008 will be the year the music industry realizes that it needs web people - the lack of them is their problem.
I want to meet Doug Merrill.
